And The Reviews Are In!

brides
I just received three new reviews on Wedding Wire for my on-location Makeup Artistry.  Check out what my brides had to say!

Amanda is amazing! I could not have asked for a better makeup artist. Her product is wonderful and stayed on all night. My face is very sensitive and I had no issues with the makeup. Her price is very reasonable and it was SO helpful that she could come to me. Her makeup enhances the features you want and hides what you don't while keeping you very natural. My new husband even commented on that. She is always on time or early and her communication is fantastic. She is willing to work around your schedule. She has a great attitude and is very easy to get along with. She listens to your wants and ensures that you are satisfied. I loved working with her and would 110% recommend her!

Amanda was amazing! She came to me for the trial run and the wedding day and was very flexible with scheduling. She also listened to exactly what I wanted and I loved my makeup!!

Amanda was GREAT as my wedding makeup artist! She was always quick to respond, and she is an absolute delight...so sweet and flexible...she just wants to make sure you're happy! I met with her a few months prior to my wedding for my trial, and we worked out a plan for the big day (she did a chart and took pictures). I even sent her some additional feedback later after spending a day in my makeup following the trial, and she made sure that I would love everything about it...which I did!

On the afternoon of my wedding, Amanda also ended up doing makeup for my mom and my husband's mom, and they both looked wonderful. I can't thank Amanda enough for her kindness and professionalism through the whole process...it can be a stressful chain of events leading up to your wedding, but she always made me feel at ease, and I'd definitely recommend her to others!

My Night At Demure

Saturday evening, I met with a client at Demure where we sell Lace Cosmetics.  She had an event to go to and needed full makeup (wish I could have gotten a picture of her but she was in a hurry).  When I walked in, there was an awesome jewelry trunk show happening that featured two local vendors here in Atlanta.

The first jewelry line was called Niari Gifts by a very talented woman named Precious.  She makes very unique pieces of jewelry, headbands and other accessories.  You can check out more of her work by clicking here.

The second jewelry designer was Simone.  She has created an awesome line called 3 Love Designs.  Her pieces were so pretty and I literally tried on every ring she had. So. Cute. You can see more of her work by clicking here.

Simone also took the liberty of modeling some of Demure's clothing, shoes and her jewelry.  DA-DA-DA-DA-DIVA!

Oh yeah...and there was this guy.  He was our impromptu live entertainment for the night. Dancing Guy

Just as an FYI, my client I worked with is an awesome artist and is having a show on December 8th.  Below is a picture of the invite.  If you're in Atlanta, make sure to check her out.

A Photo Booth, A Jewelry Designer And A Makeup Artist

I hope you all had a fantastic weekend!  Mine was SO FUN!!  We really had a blast at our photo booth event at Demure Boutique on Saturday.  We had amazing clients, many friends stopped by and good times with the lovely ladies of Demure.  Here are a few snapshots from the event.

Here I am (right) with the lovely Laura Polmear of Laura Polmear Photography (left).  She was our photographer in the photo booth.  In these shots, we had to hand the camera over to Essence so I could have a few silly pics with my dear friend.

Falling

Autumn has arrived, the leaves are changing and the fall wardrobe is back out (including many new additions).  I was in a casual fall mood and ready to play outdoors.  Thanks to the insane winds left by Frankenstorm Sandy, a wind fan was not needed for our impromptu photo shoot.

2013 Wedding Trends

For the last couple of years the biggest trend in weddings has been the vintage theme.  Now that 2012 is coming to a close, engagement season is around the corner and it is time to look forward to 2013.  I am going to fill you in on the two themes that will be trending in the new year. Twenty's Glamour

Thanks to shows like Downton Abbey and the new Great Gatsby film, the roaring twenties are back.  I am in love with this trend.  There are so many ways you can work with these looks from the clothes and jewelry to hair and makeup.  Have fun with it!

Hipster Chic

The Urban Dictionary definition of "Hipster" is: "Hipsters are a subculture of men and women typically in their 20’s and 30’s that value independent thinking, counter-culture, progressive politics, an appreciation of the art and indie-rock, creativity, intelligence, and witty banter."

With this trend, you will see shorter dresses, photo booths and suspenders and bow ties.  The hipster trend has been developing for quite a while now but will be hitting the wedding scene in a big way next year.
